Curist Antifungal Relief (terbinafine hydrochloride 1%) FAQ
Curist Antifungal Relief is an antifungal cream that contains terbinafine as its main ingredient and is typically used for athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm. Terbinafine works by blocking a key enzyme in making the fungus’s cell membrane. Ultimately, this causes holes in the membrane and destroys the fungus.
Depending on the type of fungal infection you have, you may have to apply the cream once a day or twice a day for either one or two weeks. Please see the Drug Facts and package for specific dosing instructions.
If you have athlete’s foot, apply the cream twice a day in the morning and night. If you have jock itch or ringworm, you only need to apply it once a day in the morning or night, as long as you are applying it consistently around the same time.
Wash the affected area with soap and water and dry completely before applying the cream. To prevent the infection from spreading, make sure to wash your hands after treating and touching the area, avoid sharing towels and bedsheets with others, and wash your towels and bedding regularly.
If you have athlete’s foot, it is important to wear well-fitted and ventilated shoes and to change your shoes and socks at least once a day.
Stop using the cream and contact your doctor if there is too much irritation or the infection gets worse.
